Facilities Planning Information
Our mission in the School District of Wild Rose is to work in partnership with our students, parents, and the community to prepare our students to be successful in an ever-changing world. We could not be successful in our mission without the ongoing support of our community - thank you!
As a District, we are always looking for ways to improve our students’ educational experience and form stronger partnerships with our families and staff. To help us accomplish this goal, we are in the process of long-range facilities planning. The goal is to identify potential needs and to understand what the community’s priorities are for facilities improvements.
Thank you to the community members who attended the facilities information meeting! We appreciate your participation and input.
Last fall, the School Board hired Bray Architects to conduct a facilities study. A facilities study is a comprehensive review of our buildings and grounds, school infrastructure, and learning environments. This information helped the School Board and administration understand the current state of our buildings. Why now?
Some aging building systems need updating
No major educational improvement projects since 1997
Improve safety and security
Improve educational spaces to reflect a collaborative and flexible environment
Proactively planning to upgrade the “bones” of the buildings (infrastructure)
Provide more hands-on / CTE skills for our MS/HS students
As good stewards of taxpayer resources, we recognize the financial window of opportunity
All staff were invited to participate in a survey and a future listening session. Their feedback has been incorporated into the facilities planning. As we move through the process, there will be more opportunities for staff input along the way.
Our promise to the community is to be open and transparent about the facilities planning process. We will share regular facilities planning updates in our monthly school newsletters and on this website to keep citizens and families informed.
A community-wide facilities survey will be mailed to all households in our district at the beginning of the next school year to ask for feedback on potential facilities solutions. With this feedback, the School Board and the District will develop a plan that reflects the priorities of our community.
